Prayer Requests
 |
| Futile praying in the dead
of winter by a young man seeking to gain God's acceptance
is common place all year long |
1. Pray for the expanding and strengthening of the
Body of Christ. God's people face extreme challenges living in
a society emerging from centuries of systems characterized by
violence, domination, deception, and corruption. Pray that believers
will become mighty in spirit. Pray that true believers will discover
the right, the authority, and the power they have available to
pray for a city the size of Kiev.
2. Pray that God will do whatever is necessary to
bring spiritual unity among believers. You can have unity without
agreement, because unity is built on love, and not on doctrine.
Pray that churches will understand that they can pray together
and love each other without agreeing on every doctrine. Pray that
they will see how love covers. Pray that churches will see that
it is love for one another that the world sees as a testimony
to the Gospel.
3. Pray for church leaders, that they will focus on the basics
of the Gospel and the essential needs of ministry. Pray that they
will love their churches with that which only Jesus can provide.
Pray that they will not hold them in legalistic bondage by preaching
intimidating performance, and pray that they will understand and
proclaim the grace of God that sets captives free. Pray that they
will be true to God's Word, filled and anointed by the Holy Spirit,
and bold and courageous in their ministries.

only the authority of Jesus can break the bondage in this
region |
4. Pray that truth, integrity, and purity will rise up in the
church, that believers will be set free from the temptation to
compromise, and that truth, integrity, and purity will be released
into the community in a way that will change the way it thinks
and acts.
5. Pray that pastors and other leaders will have a vital personal
prayer life. Pray that God will put it in the hearts of members
that prayer is the key to seeing a city change. Pray that churches
in Kiev will make praying for their city a major priority in their
ministries.
6. Pray that pastors, churches, and denominations will become
more interested in building the Kingdom of Christ than in building
their own kingdoms. Pray that pastors and ministry leaders will
actively search for ways to pray together for the city.

pagan gods illustrate the centuries of spiritual oppression,
bondage, and deception that hovers over the city of Kiev and
surrounding areas |
7. Pray for the salvation of many people in Kiev. A growing number
of churches are becoming more strongly evangelistic and mission
minded. There are numerous missionary agencies headquartered in
the city. Pray that God will use them all to draw thousands to
His Son.
8. Pray for President Kuchma, all national leaders, the national
Parliament, the city's mayor and all local authorities. Scripture
says doing so results in a peaceable and tranquil society (I Tim
2:1-4).
9. Pray that God will motivate His people from all around the
world to begin praying for Kiev on a regular basis.
